Summary: The IIRR Pastoralist Education Project bridges curriculum and literacy gaps for children in nomadic families and for under-educated adults in rural Kenya, Ethiopia, and Uganda. This is achieved by the partnering with local organizations to build their capacity by establishing learning centers and running non-formal education programs. --- There are 25-40 million children who are members of nomadic or pastoralist households in Africa. These children encounter education systems characterized by limited access, weak delivery, gender inequality, and poor infrastructure.
