Summary: GOLD harnesses the power of peer-to-peer influence in South African secondary schools by training young adults to make informed choices and develop health-enhancing and purpose-driven habits. Description of Scale and Reach
The full GOLD Peer Education model is implemented in over 120 communities in 3 countries. Over 10,500 school-going-age youth have completed the three years of the GOLD Peer Education program. In 2012, through its newly established consulting arm, GOLD developed a product called Peer2Peer which is designed to be a "DIY" product for scalability of the good practices associated with the GOLD Peer Education model. This product is currently being used in 9 additional communities in the Western Cape and 5 communities in Botswana.
