Description of Scale and Reach
The program began in 2000 in three districts of Bangalore in Karnataka. By 2006, it expanded to nine districts of Karnataka, and work initiated in two districts of Andhra Pradesh. In 2008, the program was scaled up in Karnataka to include a total of 22 districts. In 2010, work began in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
