In 1985, the BRAC primary school program began with 22, one-room schools that offered three years of primary education. Over the years, the program has scaled dramatically, to cover the entire primary school curriculum, operating over 22,000 primary schools in multiple countries, and having expanded to Pakistan, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Uganda, and Haiti.
