The Center for Education Innovations (CEI) Social Enterprise Forum will bring together leading education implementers, researchers, policymakers, funders, and impact investors from across East Africa.
What: CEI Education Social Enterprise Forum
When: Friday, 21 November 2014
Where: Nairobi, Kenya
Who: Hosted by CEI's East Africa Hub, GEMS Education Solutions, the event will bring together a cross-section of influential and innovative education implementers from across the region. Leading researchers, policymakers, funders, and impact investors are also expected to participate.
Forum participants will explore:
- How best to continue building a pipeline of innovative education social enterprises
- How to scale existing models
- How to ensure that social enterprises are targeting and supporting national education priorities
- How best different stakeholders can work together within the education ecosystem
Under CEI's 'Identify, Analyze, Connect' framework, the Forum will:
IDENTIFY education social enterprises operating in East Africa and demonstrate their potential for impact in addressing key issues transforming education in the region.
ANALYZE important and contested issues – such as the role of the non-state sector in education and its ability to deliver quality, equitable services; public-private engagement and opportunities for collaboration to achieve common objectives; issues of ‘getting to scale’ for promising models and ways of supporting them through favorable policies and financing mechanisms.
CONNECT social impact investors, edupreneurs, educationalists, policymakers and donors to build understanding and collaboration in the public-private space and discuss concrete opportunities to harness social innovation in the education sector.
Participation in this event is by invitation only. Still, make sure you read the CEI blog and follow CEI on Twitter, to get the latest news and updates.
